Scouting America Chairman
The Scouting America Chairman (formerly Boy Scouts of America) is responsible for encouraging posts to sponsor local scouting units.
The Chairman does so by gathering scouting information from Scouting America, at the Department Fall Conference, the Department Convention and other means of correspondence with the Department Scouting Chairman.
The Chairman disseminates then information through the 1st District Bulletin, Facebook Page, Newsletter, and to all Post Commanders and Adjutants.
The Chairman will
- Solicits reports from all Posts.
- Tabulate and evaluate the programs and present the 1st District awards.
- Encourage the nomination of individual Post Eagle Scouts to the Department for the “Scout of the Year” award.
- Assists the Department Chairman in the selection of the “Scout of the Year” award.
- Attend and report to the 1st District Mid-Winter and 1st District Convention.
- Prepare an annual report for the Commander for distribute at the District Convention.
- Attend the Department Convention and Department Fall Conference to get the most up-to-date information available.
