Rehabilitation Chairman
The Rehabilitation Chairman is responsible for knowing about current legislation and programs that affect our members and transmitting this information to the Post Commanders, Adjutants and Service Officers.
The Chairman receives information from the Department Chairman, Department Fall Conference, and other mailings.
The Chairman disseminates information through the District Bulletin, Facebook Page, Newsletter to all Post Commanders and Adjutants. The Chairman will have information and brochures available at Mid-Winter and District Convention.
The Chairman will
- Request each post complete the annual Department Rehabilitation Report and consolidate them into the District report.
- Determine the District Outstanding Service Officer and award a plaque at the District Convention. This information, along with a biography, is forwarded to the Department Service Officer for further consideration as our candidate for nomination for the Department Pat Cliff Award for Outstanding Service Officer Award.
- Conducts the District Service Officers School at the annual District Schools of Instruction.
- Recognizes posts who have had outstanding Rehabilitation programs during the current Legion year.
- Report to the District Mid-Winter and the District Convention.
- Prepare an annual report and give it to the Commander for distribution at the District Convention.
- Attend the Department Convention and Department Fall Conference to get the most up-to-date information available, so they can inform the District members through the District Bulletin.
