Children And Youth Chairman
The Children and Youth Chairman is responsible for promoting all programs of the National Children and Youth Division, including The American Legion National Child Welfare Foundation, the American Legion National Endowment Fund, which funds Temporary Financial Assistance, Children’s Miracle Network, and all other child safety programs available through the National Organization.
The Chairman receives information from the Department Chairman of Children and Youth Committee. This committee meets at the discretion of the Department Children and Youth Chairman, usually at the Department Fall Conference and the Department Convention, with all necessary expenses included in the Department Children and youth budget.
The District Chairman disseminates information through the 1st District Bulletin, Facebook Page, Newsletter to all Post Commanders and Adjutants.
The Chairman will have information and brochures available at Mid-Winter and District Convention.
The Chairman will
- Be on the Department Children and Youth Committee.
- Solicits Children and Youth Activity reports from all 1st District posts.
- Attend and report to the District Mid-Winter and District Convention.
- Select award(s) to be presented at District Convention.
- Encourages posts to complete Children and Youth CPR information and forward to Department.
- Prepare a report for the Commander for distribution at the 1st District Convention.
- Attend the Department Convention and Department Fall Conference to get the most up-to-date information available.
