Blood Donor Program Chairman
The Blood Donor Chairman is responsible for seeking out blood donation programs throughout the district and working with posts to educate and encourage members about the need and value.
The Chairman receives information at the Department Convention and Department Fall Conference regarding the Blood Donor Programs of the Veterans Hospitals and The American Red Cross for all Posts within the 1st District and encourages participation in the local blood drives.
The Chairman disseminates information through the 1st District Bulletin, Facebook Page, Newsletter to all Post Commanders and Adjutants. The Chairman will have Blood Donor information and brochures available at Mid-Winter and District Convention.
The Chairman will
- Offer to assist posts in setting up blood donor programs.
- Explain the importance of keeping records of time, mileage, and money spent on blood programs so it can be properly reported each year.
- Attend and report to the 1st District Mid-Winter and 1st District Convention.
- Prepare a report for the Commander for distribution at the 1st District Convention.
- Attend the Department Convention and Department Fall Conference to get the most up-to-date information available.
